Illustration Friday: Tea

I didn't want to be posting so late, but I've had a touch of a cold, and it slowed me down this week. Thinking of tea made me think of little girl's tea parties, but then my thoughts turned to what would make for an unusual social gathering. This lead to wondering what if Goldilocks and the 3 Bears could have made up over a nice cup a' tea??

I've been wanting to do a vector piece, but I'm not completely happy with the result yet. It still needs tweaking, or maybe I'll use this as a color comp, and try painting it instead.

Sweet. My favorite is the bear licking his cup - and with that funny little hat!

It's adorable! She looks so trusting, and they look so happy to be there. The colors are soft, which makes this very charming and delightful.

At first look I didn't even notice it was a vector drawing - it looks so soft and lively! Lovely drawing and nice colours!

Thank you for the kind comments everyone! It still needs some work, but it's good to hear some positive feedback.

Nice work! This is all vector? It looks so hand done... impressive. I've been wanting to work more in Illustrator, but get very frustrated with the pen tool.

I love your "Simple," too, and your "Sea" or (Pisces). I look forward to when you do the rest of the zodiac!

Thanks Roz. Well it's mostly all vector. I brought my hand drawn sketch into Illustrator, and drew my shapes on layers above it. I found Illustrator to be a pain at first, but I've forced myself to become more comfortable with it. I like the freehand pen. It doesn't draw a line exactly how I'd expect, but I try to embrace the irregularities, and not overly fix it like I would in a drawing.
I then brought it into photoshop, and laid a slight scanned in texture on it, and burned in just a little shading.
