Illustration Friday: Resolve

This year I resolve to appreciate each day of 2009 filled with hope for positive changes as I recognize all the possibilities, and to remember that life is a series of choices. I don't believe so much in resolutions, but I do think of each year in terms of what themes I'd like to focus on. My 2009 goals include becoming more pro-active in all things, to focus on promoting myself for the children's illustration market, and to not forget to enjoy the small stuff like a nice walk along the river.

I was watching the New Year's celebrations around the world, and realized that this is the last year that the funny spectacles people will be able to use the 2 zeros in the middle of the year for the eyeglass lenses. I wonder if this makes the manufacturers of novelty specs a bit sad? Oh well, they had a good run.

This is such a very lovely and happy feeling illustration. I like the muted tones and the textured feeling. I agree that having a theme or focus is more effective than a bunch of resolutions. Happy New Year!

Thanks!

Youngsun Kim- Yes, that's the 'snow effect' I've been seeing on some blogs. I googled, and found an easy button to add it here: http://www.bloggerbuster.com/2008/12/simple-snow-effect-widget-for-blogger.html

Wonderful illustration for the new year!

Next year also begins 11 years of not-so-cool sounding years. Instead of "oh-one", "oh-two", ... "oh-nine", it will be "ten", "eleven", ... "twenty" etc. Little tid bit of useless info there! :P

Happy New Year!

This is a grand illustration. So retro with the colors and texture. I feel this year is filled with all three of these eggs! I love this post! Thanks for sharing your gifts and talents with us. You are such an inspiration.
