I happened upon this blue-footed bird with the unfortunate name in an old calendar, and it inspired this little character. I'm working on a larger painting for a June show, so I used these little pieces to get my painting muscles warmed up. Feels great to be back in the studio again!

I wish you could see me now. I am over here clapping...I love this and your inspiration and especially seeing how the little character evolved. Your picture just makes me happy.
Jennifer, thanks so much! Your comment means a lot to me. Not having posted in a while, I have doubts sometimes..... 'is this worth posting?', I ask myself.
So sweet. And I like that sketches of blue-footed bird.
:)
That is one sweet booby! (0; Sorry, couldn't resist. But really, that little guys is so cute it hurts me! I'm thinking a book that that takes place on the Galapagos Islands with him as the protagonist! It just has to be!!! Oh, and you certainly have your painting muscles well toned!
Thank you, Martina!
heehee, thanks Linda! I'll need to work on some iguana concept sketches. If it's set on the Galapagos, there must be iguanas! I'll need to get my writing muscles in much better shape.
Awwwwwwwww!!! I would never leave you behind! Poor thing. Come live with me. I shall put on my blue suede shoes, and we will dance 'til the cows come home.
He's adorable! Just watched The Big Year, and the blue footed booby was one of the prize sightings. See? He's a star! :)
