Illustration Friday: Stitch

Stitching together two lives is not always so easy.

I feel like I'm a bit late for my first post of 2008. I took a creative break for the holidays, and then came back, and had a hard time getting into the swing of things, and then some freelance projects took priority. Well, hopefully, I can get back on track. I'm actually super excited about this year, and all the possibilities it may hold. All this newness is exhilarating! I feel like this is the year to make my hopes, dreams and wishes come true. At least that's what my horoscope said, and when it's that positive I'm perfectly happy going along with it!!! :D

We are in the constant state of becoming stitched and unstitched to one another. A intricate weave of lives intersecting with one another, some become entangled while others come undone only to be joined up again later. A huge tapestry outstretched before us all. So even if some stitches come undone and fall apart, there is always someone there to mend things back again.

Very nice! I love the different shades of blue you used and then that pop of orange. Great illustration!

Her side-bag is cool! The message is hilarious too. To take the time to stitch that you "might" like someone is so cute.

The visible stitching on her outfit is a nice detail as well.

You've come back swinging! Great drawing, clever use of color and very sweet, humorous message.

You can't miss having a good year, with your positive attitude. Good to see you back.

Well... I hope your dreams all come true! I love your take on "Stitch," especially with the words within the heart. There's both humor and realism. Really great illustration on every level!

Thanks for all the encouragement everyone, and for the poetic stitching of words Big B!! :)

Her bag is actually modeled after my own handy black purse except that I don't have the extra top pocket.

Catnapping hit the nail on the head with "breezy!" That really describes your art style. I LOVE it!!

Your optimism is inspiring! This is adorable. I like the whole concept of being sure, but not being so sure....yet. I do hope this is your year. Best of luck!

"I might like you"?
Optimistic? People dating? What?

Captures that rare and unforgettable moment when two folks going their separate ways share a glance, toggling the switch to the "on" position. All the fun and foolishness to follow can be traced back here!

Really sweet illustration, Angela. Great way to kick off 2008.

Don't stop believin' Trev!
